So what Is A “Video Legacy” Anyway???
We all leave a piece of ourselves behind in the minds and hearts of those we love; just as our parents, grandparents, and others have done for us. A “Video Legacy” is another way of complementing whatever else we may be able to leave behind for those whom we have enjoyed life with, as well as for those who will come after us.
Many of us have been asked by our children, for instance, to leave behind for them, in some fashion, what our hopes and dreams have been, what struggles we feel we have had to undertake in our lives, what we have come to see as our life’s successes, and maybe even a lesson or two about what we might have done differently. Some of our children would just like a record of some of those great stories we’ve been telling all of our lives, or maybe that fruitcake recipe we have always kept under lock and key. I’ve captured from my own parents some terrific, and now cherished stories of their childhoods, their stories of my grandparents, and even some remarkable remembrances of those who came before them.
These keepsake videos will be produced with a broadcast-quality video camera, professional lighting and sound where needed; and edited and produced on the same type of editing systems that are used in Hollywood. Quite simply, that makes them a whole lot more interesting to watch, especially if they’re going to be watched over and over again, and probably well into the future by descendants that we’ll never get a chance to meet. We can incorporate any photos or personal video that you’d like, include any voiceover you’d feel is helpful, add some of your favorite music as a soundtrack, and shoot it at a location that is comfortable for you, normally right where you live. Our questionnaire may help you to prepare some of your ideas.
If you have everything ready to go, we can probably complete the shoot, with multiple takes as necessary, in about 4x the amount of time as the final length of your video. If you’d like a finished product of 1 hour length, for example, we can probably shoot that in 4 hours or so. Then, in about two weeks, we can return a finished product to you, either as a VHS tape, or as a DVD with chapter headings that you might designate for your different topics. Duplicate copies are also readily available.

5-10-Minute Life Memorial Video for Funeral Services
People arrive from all of the different “worlds” in which our loved ones have walked – from among their family, their friends, their neighborhood, their jobs perhaps, or their Clubs and volunteer associations. Many of them we’ve never met before. And yet they all look to us, the family of the beloved departed, to help them to celebrate a life well-lived, a life that each of them has been some part of. We do this primarily, of course, through conversation with so many of them during the evenings of the wake, and through various personal expressions of love, of gratitude, and of sorrow at the loss.
Perhaps we can help you, and them, to celebrate this life in what seems to be a very heart-warming and emotionally satisfying manner with a 5-10-minute “Life Memorial” video presentation, normally shown near the close of the funeral service itself. You may want to incorporate various photos, past video clips, older home movies, or even voice recordings or music into your remembrance.
All necessary sound and projector equipment is supplied, as well as one of us to operate it all for you, and an individual CD or DVD copy is prepared for each of the deceased’s immediate adult family.
